Driveway Sealing Sunshine Coast
Driveway sealing protects your driveway from spills and built-up mould, slows mould growth right down, and stops steel reinforcing rusting and bleeding up through the surface. It shields the concrete from UV and oxidation, which is what breaks a driveway down early up here, and it comes in a gloss or a matt finish depending on the look you are after and how dusty the spot is.
We seal driveways from Noosa and the hinterland down through Maroochydore to Caloundra. Residential driveways and commercial ones, concrete, exposed aggregate, stencil, paver and asphalt driveways, new pours and tired old surfaces that have never had anything on them. If you want to protect your driveway or bring an existing driveway back, that is the job.
Here is what comes with every Shoreline driveway sealing job:
- A test patch before we seal, every time, no exceptions
- A full pressure clean first, because sealing a dirty driveway locks the dirt in
- Free pre-mould treatment with any concrete sealing job
- A fixed written quote up front with nothing hidden in it
- A fully licensed and insured local team, on time or your money back

What Concrete Driveway Sealing Actually Does
Concrete looks solid. Under a microscope it is a sponge. Every pore in that concrete surface is an open door for water, oil, grease and mould spores, and once they are in they are in. That brown halo under where the car parks is not sitting on top of the concrete. It is inside it.
A sealer closes the door. Depending on the type of sealer we use, it either soaks in to penetrate the slab and harden it from within, or it sits on top as a clear protective film. Either way the result is the same in practice. Spills sit on the driveway surface long enough for you to wipe them up. The concrete repels water instead of soaking it up. Mould has nothing to grip. Colour holds instead of fading out under the sun.
The other half of the job is the steel. Every concrete driveway has reinforcing in it, and when water gets through to it, it rusts and bleeds orange stains up through the surface from below. You cannot clean that off. You can only stop the water getting there in the first place, which is exactly what sealing a concrete driveway is for.
Sealing concrete driveways is also straightforward maintenance rather than a repair job. Protecting concrete is a smaller job than restoring a stained one, and a far smaller job than replacing it. Old concrete that is going chalky and prone to cracking tends to benefit most, because penetration into the slab is what slows that down.
The Test Patch That Comes Before Every Seal
Early on in this business we took a customer at his word. He told us there was no sealer on his driveway. There was. We laid the wrong sealer over the top of what was already there, it did not take, and we stripped the whole thing back and resealed it at our own cost.
He stayed a customer. He owns a big four wheel drive company and he had us back later to do his commercial shed. But the real thing that came out of that job is the rule we have not broken since.
Every sealing job gets a test patch first. Every one. It does not matter how certain the customer is that the concrete is bare, because most people genuinely do not know what a previous owner or a previous contractor put down, and you cannot tell by looking. A test patch tells us what the substrate is and whether there is an existing coating on it, and that decides which type of driveway sealing your surface can actually take.
Different sealers cannot just be laid over any substrate. Get that wrong and you get a coating that blisters, goes cloudy, peels in sheets or simply never cures. The fix is stripping it all back and starting again, which costs somebody. We would rather spend twenty minutes on a test patch than have that somebody be you.
That is the standard on every job. Preparation is key, and on a driveway the preparation starts before the cleaning does.
Driveway Cleaning Before You Seal Your Driveway
Whatever goes onto your driveway gets locked under the sealer for years. That is why we clean the driveway properly first, and why driveway cleaning and sealing is one job here rather than two quotes from two different outfits.
Prior to sealing we high pressure clean the surface to thoroughly clean out the embedded dirt, mould, grease and oil, then treat what pressure alone will not shift. Oil stains get a degreaser. Heavy mould gets a soft wash treatment that kills it at the root rather than just knocking the top off it. Exposed aggregate that has gone dull or been finished badly gets an acid clean to bring the stone back up, and any surface that has been acid cleaned gets neutralised afterwards, which is a step a surprising number of operators do not know exists. Skip it and you get staining that turns up weeks later, long after the job looked finished.
Then the driveway has to be completely dry before anything is applied. Sealing over a damp slab is how you trap moisture underneath and get a cloudy finish that has to come off again.
Then the sealing process itself. We apply two thin coats rather than one thick one, because a two-coat system cures properly, covers evenly and lasts. The second coat goes on once the first is ready for it. One heavy coat stays tacky and marks under tyres.
Penetrating Sealer, Wet Look Or Non Slip Sealant
There is no single driveway sealer that suits every job, only the right one for your surface and the look you want. We carry quality driveway sealers across the range and match them to the driveway rather than to whatever is in the van.
- Penetrating sealer – penetrating driveway sealers soak in and protect the slab from the inside, leaving the look of your driveway exactly as it is. No shine and no film to wear through, which is what you want when the job is protection rather than a change of appearance.
- Acrylic sealing – a topical driveway sealer that sits on the surface as a clear film. Available in a matt finish or a high gloss wet look that deepens the colour of exposed aggregate and stencil work.
- Colour sealers – a solvent-based acrylic with pigment through it, for tired plain concrete that wants reviving as well as protecting. It is a driveway coating and a facelift in the same visit.
- Concrete sealing for the rest of the property – paths, patios, carports and commercial floors, same system, same crew.
Non slip additives go into any of them where the driveway is steep, shaded or near a pool. Some sealers leave a glossy finish that looks superb and gets slick when wet, so tell us how the driveway gets used and we will tell you what suits it.
We seal pavers too, which behave differently again because the joints matter as much as the stone.
Why We Tell Sellers Not To Seal Their Driveway
Most of what you find online tells you that sealing your driveway before you sell adds value to the property. We tell our customers the opposite, and we are the ones who lose the work by saying it.
If you are selling, a seal is usually money you will not see again. The buyer is not paying more because the concrete is sealed. They are paying more because the place presents well, and a proper driveway clean gets you nearly all of that presentation for a fraction of the outlay. So that is what we recommend. Clean it, let the new owners decide whether they want it sealed, and put the difference somewhere it actually moves the sale price.
That conversation turns a big job into a small one, and we have it anyway. Our owner Dane’s test is simple. Do you really need to spend that money, and are you going to get it back on the sale? If the answer is no, we are not going to take money off someone for no reason.
Where sealing genuinely pays is when you are staying. Protect it early, keep it looking good for years, and clean it with a hose instead of booking a machine.
Our Driveway Sealer Guarantee
Sealing is not a job you can judge on the day. It is a job you judge in two years, when the driveway either still looks like it did the week we left or it does not. So we back it properly.
Every driveway sealing job carries the same three promises we make on every job. If we cannot get a surface clean before we seal it, that part is free. We turn up inside the window we gave you or your money comes back. And we will beat any comparable written quote for the same scope of work by ten percent, because we would rather earn the job than lose it on a number.
Behind that sits twenty million dollars of liability insurance, an expert team that has never had a claim against it, and a 5.0 star rating from 130 Google reviews. Have a read of them. They will tell you more about how we work than anything we could write here.

Most outfits make you wait days for a site visit before anyone will talk numbers. Tell us the size of the driveway, the surface and how it is looking, and we can usually quote our driveway sealing service on the spot over the phone. You get a fixed written quote before a drop of sealant comes off the van.
Booking runs itself from there. A confirmation text and email with your date and time, a reminder forty eight hours out, and a message when the crew is on the way so you are not waiting around wondering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every two to three years for most driveways, depending on the sealer used, how much traffic the driveway gets and how much sun it cops. There is also a test you can run yourself between times. Pour some water on the concrete surface. If it beads, the sealer is still doing its job. If it soaks straight in, the sealer has worn through and it is time to reseal.
